X-ELIO has been awarded with a 37MW contract in an auction of energy organized by the Japanese Ministry of industry, Commerce and energy
Madrid. 24 November 2017. X-ELIO, the global leader in photovoltaic solar energy, has been awarded a contract for 37 MW in an energy auction organised by the Greenhouse Gas Inventory Office of Japan (GIO), a body of the Japanese Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry.
X-ELIO was the only Spanish company awarded in the auction and it obtained 25% of the capacity on offer in the process, amounting to 141 MW.
Since 2012, X-ELIO has produced 450-MW with a tariff in Japan, where it has a team of 30 people. It currently has 76 MW in operation and 115 MW under construction.
Jorge Barredo, managing director of X-ELIO, said: “We are very happy with the results achieved in the Japanese energy auction. It is a priority market for us, where we are going to continue undertaking projects, given its high potential. Furthermore, this award is the company’s second big success story in under two weeks, following the excellent outcome of the auction in Mexico.
